Sovereign are one of the 20 largest social housing landlords in the country and a main provider of affordable housing across the south and south-west of England. We currently own and manage around 33,000 homes. We have built, with our partner Solon Housing Association, 151 new homes in Barton Hill and delivered the listening post project.

Wellspring Community Arts Project

The Arts Programme offers a wide range of arts and craft courses which take place in the spacious art room in Wellspring.

We also deliver arts and health projects working closely with the GP’s and Health Visitors to deliver creative classes for clients that maybe depressed, anxious or isolated.

Barton Hill History Group

Barton Hill History Group is a group of enthusiasts who on a voluntary basis gathers memories and photographs as well as detailed historical research. The Group was founded in 1983 and twice a year produces a magazine called the ‘Bartonian’. Barton Hill History Group has donated audio material, text and photographs as well as being involved on the listening posts steering committee.

Bristol M-shed

Bristol M-shed is a museum dedicated to telling the amazing history of Bristol, through the objects and stories of the people who have made the city what it is today. The museum is located on the historic dockside of Bristol. The M-shed has collected and archived the audio material for the listening post project.

InBristol Studios

In Bristol Studios offer art based workshops and fully equipped work space for woodwork, ceramics, print and textiles for artists to rent. InBristol Studios are based in Barton Hill. Two artists from the studios have created the manhole covers, which are part of the listening posts.
